Terms & conditions

Last reviewed: 26 May 2026

These terms apply to every commission accepted by Dawnplex Bespoke Sdn Bhd (Company Registration No. 1318492-K, “Dawnplex”) from a private or commercial client (“you”). They sit alongside our individual quotations, which always take precedence in the event of any conflict.

1. Quotations

A Dawnplex quotation is valid for sixty calendar days from the date of issue. Material prices can change — particularly for imported leather and European timbers — and a quotation may need to be re-issued if you proceed beyond the sixty-day window. We will tell you if any item has moved before re-issuing.

2. Confirmation and deposit

A commission is confirmed when you sign off on the final drawings and pay a fifty-percent deposit. We accept bank transfer, DuitNow and credit-card payment via our standard merchant facility. Production scheduling begins on the day cleared funds arrive.

3. Lead times

Lead times stated in the quotation are working-week estimates from the date of deposit. We hit the stated window in the vast majority of cases. If a material is delayed (especially with imported fabrics), we will write to you with a revised date and an explanation. Lead-time variation does not on its own give rise to a refund right.

4. Changes during build

Once the build has started, changes to dimensions, fabric or finish are accepted only where they are technically possible. The earlier you raise a change, the more flexibility we have. Changes that require rebuilding completed work are quoted as a variation order before any further work proceeds.

5. Balance and delivery

The fifty-percent balance is due before the piece leaves our workshop in Rawang. Once cleared funds are received, our delivery team will agree a date with you. Standard delivery in Peninsular Malaysia includes carrying the piece into the room of your choice and removing packaging.

6. Inspection

You have seven calendar days from delivery to inspect the piece and raise any concerns in writing. After that period the piece is deemed accepted, although the warranties in clause 8 continue to apply.

7. Cancellation

Cancellation before deposit is free of charge. Cancellation after deposit but before timber is cut is refundable less a fifteen-percent administration fee. Once timber has been cut or fabric has been cut for upholstery, cancellation is not generally possible — we will offer either completion or a partial credit against an alternative commission.

8. Warranties

Frames and structural joinery carry a ten-year warranty against breakage in normal residential use. Foam, springs and webbing carry a three-year warranty against sag or breakage. Finish work (oil, wax, lacquer) carries a one-year warranty against premature failure. Upholstery fabric and leather carry only the warranty offered by the original mill (we pass that warranty on to you on request).

9. Warranty exclusions

Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, exposure to direct sunlight or rain, contact with sharp or hot objects, attempted self-repair, or wear consistent with normal use over time. Commercial-use warranties are individually negotiated as part of the project quotation.

10. Liability

Dawnplex’s total liability under any commission is capped at the total contract value of that commission. We do not accept liability for consequential losses (relocation, alternative furniture rental, business interruption) except where required by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by conversation will be referred to the courts of Kuala Lumpur.

12. Contact

For anything arising under these terms, write to [email protected] or send a letter to our workshop in Bukit Beruntung, Rawang.
